I am so happy to have you here with me. I am Vanessa Agle Isaac the creator and director of the Samba Dance Academy. I love dancing, dancers and I absolutely love teaching and seen my students become all they can be and thrive. The Samba Dance Academy is your place for you to Shine Bright!

This online Samba studio has been created by me with a lot of love and the help of a beautiful group of Sambistas, videographers, artists and friends. The academy was created by request of thousands of beautiful women and dancers to me. So, I developed this fun space for those who desire to dance and have fun, to learn and advance into the beautiful art of Samba Dancing and those who desire to tap into the wellness, sensuality and confidence that this art form exudes. I always say "Samba is more than dance, it's a lifestyle!" A beautiful and soulful lifestyle that will bring smile to your face. 

This is a holistic program for your body mind and soul. Not only you will learn to dance samba, practice beautiful choreography, develop your samba skills but you will work on your confidence to reach for your goals.

Executive and Artistic Director 

Brazilian performer Vanessa Agle Isaac is an actress, dancer, choreographer, dance instructor, and writer.  She shares her passion with the world through many mediums. Vanessa's choreography reflects her background and finds inspiration in her homeland, Brazil. In her work she fuses modern contemporary dance with traditional Samba and Brazilian rhythms.  

Vanessa has taught many workshops and retreats across the USA and Brazil and has been a guest choreographer for many theater and stage productions. She first studied dance with the renowned Quasar Company in Brazil and went on to study many styles of dance including Samba, Brazilian popular dances, contemporary, modern, ballet, hip hop, West African, Afro-Brazilian and Capoeira.

Vanessa teaches dance classes in Samba and Brazilian Contemporary Dance and has been a guest teacher at the University of Southern California (Los Angeles), The University of California Santa Barbara, Gustafson Dance (The official School of State Street Ballet), Group Capoeira Brasil, Group Capoeira Sul da Bahia and Fusion Dance Company. She has also been a recipient of two grants by the Santa Barbara Arts Commission.

Vanessa has inspired thousands and has created a rapidly growing worldwide following. Her work has been featured in numerous magazines and publications such as Dance Spirit, InStyle, Shape, Fitness, Women’s Health and Fitness, Weight Watchers, Sweat Magazine and many others. Her Brazilian Dance DVD has sold over one million copies worldwide and was voted one of the top ten DVDs of the year by Fitness and Women’s Health & Fitness Magazine.  Vanessa was nominated for the prestigious Brazilian International Press Award in the Dance category. The Santa Barbara Magazine chose her as one of the “Most Intriguing People Worth Getting to Know” for her cultural contributions to the city.

She has worked with many celebrated musicians over the years including instrumentalists Randy Tico (Kenny Loggins, Jeff Bridges, Flora Purim), Jeff Elliot and Kevin Winard (Sergio Mendes), Brazilian singer Teka and many others. Vanessa was the choreographer for the music of Paris Psaros: "Raoni, Um Tango a Brasiliera" performed at UCSB's Lotte Lehmann Hall with acclaimed Brazilian percussionist Airto Moreira. She has also collaborated for her Samba Parade performances with renown aerialists/acrobats Autumn Phillips, Danilo Lamboas and Alfred Kendrick... artists that have collectively worked with Cirque du Soleil, and shared the stage with singers Will.I Am, Rihanna and Shakira to name a few.
